Dua 3: Dua for Illness

Post by admin

Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) was a prophet known for his patience and strong faith in Allah. He was blessed with many things: a large family, wealth, land, and good health. But Allah decided to test his faith and patience with a series of hardships.

Ayub lost his wealth, his children, and his health. He became very ill, and his body was covered in painful sores. Most people abandoned him, thinking he was cursed, but his wife remained by his side and cared for him. Despite all his suffering, Ayub remained patient and continued to have faith in Allah, never complaining.

Finally, when the pain became overwhelming, Ayub called out to Allah with this heartfelt dua:

أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

Annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen

“I have been touched with adversity, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.” (Quran 21:83)

In this dua, Ayub acknowledged his suffering but also affirmed his faith in Allah’s mercy. He didn’t complain or ask why; he simply turned to Allah, recognizing Him as the source of all mercy.

Allah answered Ayub’s prayer, restoring his health, wealth, and family. Ayub’s story is a powerful reminder of patience, faith, and trusting in Allah’s mercy, even in the hardest of times. His story and dua encourage us to remain patient and faithful, knowing that Allah’s mercy is always near.
