Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was known for his unshakable faith and trust in Allah. He faced many challenges in his life, including opposition from his people and family. Growing up in a society that worshiped idols, he questioned their practices and called his people to worship Allah alone. However, they refused and even tried to punish him.
Despite the hardships he faced, including being thrown into a fire and being tested with the command to sacrifice his son, Ibrahim always turned to Allah with complete trust. When he and his followers distanced themselves from the disbelievers, they made this powerful supplication:
رَّبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
Rabbanaa ‘alayka tawakkalnaa wa ilayka anabnaa wa ilaykal maseer
Our Lord! In You we put our trust, and to You we turn in repentance, and to You is our final return.
(Quran 60:4)
This dua reflects Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and submission to Allah’s will, reminding us to always place our trust in Allah’s wisdom and mercy. His story is a powerful lesson in patience, devotion, and complete reliance on Allah.
